[ARCHIVED THE KNOW HOW NEWS 2003]

Well it's Christmas eve...and I have presents for everyone....you get new
PICTURES from the tour early!! I know what your thinking...that's the best gift in the whole wide world...well you can thank me later. So we survived the snow laden tour...we drove through Detroit and almost died...we passed by the venue almost 5 times just to make sure it was the correct one and so we can avoid getting stabbed. In Ann Arbor the venue offered its place for us to spend the night unsupervised, so we spent the night playing free air hockey and pool....Earl however decided to play pocket pool and tonsil hockey instead. In Chicago, we played at the Bottom Lounge which I have to say is a sweet club....we then met up with our label president Chuck Wren of JUMP UP RECORDS and watched the Eclectics rip it up on stage! Finch was followed around inside the club by these three 13 year old girls who wouldn't stop giggling at him....no complaints from him though. After the show we went to the Improv Olympic especially for Skyler to watch some spontaneous theater. When we arrived in Grand Rapids, MI., we were greeted by our friends from MUSTARD PLUG...it was nice seeing them again and we were honored to be playing with them in their hometown. After that we started the long haul back to Gainesville...but before we left...we had to drop Earl off at the Greyhound station so he can take the bus back to Kenosha, Wisconsin...and I think Earl may be dead. I want to thank Earl and Mitch for filling in on trombone and bass on this tour...and remember you don't have to lie to make friends.

12-19-2003 | 03:34 AM EST - TOUR UPDATE AGAIN!
We swore we would never play Toledo, Ohio again...but here we are and we actually played to a crowd that was 3 times bigger then all three previous Toledo shows combined. Thank you to the girl who donated $12 to us. E-mail me for your surprise. The show in Columbus being cancelled meant we had to spend 8 hours in the Franklin Park mall, just to stay warm and entertain ourselves. During that time we managed to "DB" [drop bombs] a total of 21 1/2 times. The toilets were all on auto-flush so it was like pooping on a sprinkler.

Forrest Gump = Bryan Wilson's [haircut].

We had a fallen warrior today. Me. I know I am usually as graceful as russian ice princess...but While performing in Toledo, I was jumping in the beginning of the set and Earl tripped and pushed me down simultaneously. He said it was an accident but I feel otherwise. I have a nice sized bruise on my backside. Revenge is inevitable.

I am developing a theory that Mitch is a bear. He is actually hibernating while on tour. Typical day for Mitch: Sleep. Eat. Sleep. Eat. Play Show. Sleep. Now when available Mitch clings on to a computer like a baby to a mothers teat. Sucking the life right out of the internet.

Finch and I know a secret and Alex will never Know. HAHAHAHA.

Earl thinks condescending means smooth and nice. If you agree email earlandyouarestupid@theknowhow.com. Earl is taking the Greyhound back to wherever it is he is from. Hopefully that is the last time we will ever see him.

The winner of the vote off between "Saves the Day" and "Tub Ring" is still NO ONE CARES. It appears as if only Earl's posse the Hired Geeks missed the joke. Sorry Guys.

"Outlet Wars" Round 1 Winner: Skyler (me)

12-15-2003 | 12:49 AM EST - TOUR UPDATE!
First off Finch left Gainesville a boy and has already grown into man, celebrating his 21st birthday with glorious honor. Besides purchasing alcohol legally for the first time in his life in side the USA. HE also slept with two WILLING young ladies. (
PICTURES UP SOON, FOR PROOF!) I know, I am shocked as well...but after a 12 pack of PBR and a fifth of Jack they were excited about the idea. That night in a quiet house in Albany, Finch's man-cry could be heard echoing about. Congratulations Finch!! Your a lucky devil.....god don't make no trash.

Earl and Finch are currently have a debate as to who is the better band. Finch says "Saves The Day" and Earl says "Tub Ring." Email your thoughts to whocares@theknowhow.com. If Earl mentions "Tub Ring" one more time he will be left at the next rest stop.

Mitch has become quite the highlight at rest stops with the ladies of the night. Mitch also sounds like he is building a log cabin when he sleeps, I have personally thought about taking his life for some peace and quiet...but we need him to finish the tour first.

Earl has fit in quite well with TKH as far as busting people's balls, now if he could only remember the horn lines for our songs.

Hey Pat, Bryan said "you have a lot of explaining to do."

Alex and I have gone insane and have already taken over 400 pictures in the span of 4 days. Maybe one of them is worth seeing. I am trading in my Irish heritage for that of Alex's. (like i said, PICTURES UP SOON!)
The quest for power continues.

Damn...the last tour was off the hook. First thing... playing with our friends again in
MUSTARD PLUG and THE PLANET SMASHERS was such a treat...lots of beer guzzling and shenanigans. Skyler told the Planet Smashers that Americans can drink more than Canadians...Skyler than proceeded to get totally wasted in Detroit. Finch wore his busted eyeglasses for some shows and he looked like a accountant on stage. Skeen never gets tired of saying the phrase "shut da fuck up" to everyone he meets. Alan V. was a chick magnet on tour....oh did I say "chick magnet"...I meant skanky hooch magnet. B. Wilson claims that we have to "haul ass" to every venue...so we can get there 16 hours early. Mills likes to TALK REALLY LOUD LIKE THIS! Look...I got new tour PICTURES! give me 24 hours to post them.

Hi this is Bryan (Wilson....I play drums and you've probably never seen my face). Anyways, I'm clocking in to do the tour update. It's Wednesday, April 2nd and we're in Norman, Oklahoma. A lot of things have happened since the last update. One of the coolest was while walking in Hollywood. We were on our way to check out Amoeba Music (the coolest CD store in America) and as we were crossing the street I took a double take and it was Alex Desert, the singer from Hepcat and now famous for his role in the Sitcom "Becker." We all yelled like a bunch of fanatic pansies....The Know How's official way of saying "hi" to a famous person. He actually went to the CD store too and I talked to him a little.....look out for a future Hepcat tour maybe this summer. I saw my cousin for the first time in 16 years when we played in LA. She got me drunk and I passed out in the Van. 34 could possibly be the number of drinks I had or the number of times I had to pull over to throw up and/or throw up again in South Central Los Angeles....at least my puke was red like the "bloods" in L.A. Later that night Skeen's shoe disappeared in the desert. We almost died when our back tire on the van decided to explode on our way to Ska Summit. Oh yeah! SKA SUMMIT WAS AMAZING!!! We saw a lot of old friends from various bands and lots of fans from all over the world. Official estimates are from 9000 to 12,000 in attendance. All for ska music. Word is that it might become a tour....keep your eyes peeled. After Ska Summit we stayed at Circus Circus in Vegas.....lots of gambling/drinking and various shennanigans with Big D and the Kid's Table. Skyler always wins at blackjack. I lost a quarter. WE saw Elvis. Some girl Alan V. met at Ska Summit took a cab over to our hotel room for some late night action, so basically this girl PAID to hook up with Alan V...which is disturbing. The last two days we've spent driving and actually drove through a cloud of killer bees. I swear! I thought we were going to die and Finch lept onto his seat like there was a mouse in the van....later he killed a killer bee. I got one too! We played with The Toasters in Phoenix and in Albuquerque. Both were great shows. Jack Ruby kicked my butt in pool.....twice.

Let's Start The List: Finch has bad kneecaps, lets just say a whole bad left leg... so be careful. V (also known as Alan V.) has a bad neck. V and Finch are never grumpy. Don't hide Zelda-"Ocarana of Time" from Skeen. Somewhere in El Paso a lucky young girl is wearing V's boxers. V calls it an investment, I call it a waste of boxers. At the Giant Dinosaur roadside attraction (from "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" and "The Wizard" fame) we saw the worlds largest Mexican Mullet... and documentation to prove it. (pictures coming soon!) Mills is losing his voice, so I think prayer does work. B. Wilson likes candy being thrown around in the van. The front seat is the best place to sleep in the van.(ask me or finch) The world's nicest gas station bathroom is in Ventura, California, stocked with 3 ply and roses. Alex is addicted to his phone, the only time he is not looking at it is during his sleep, although he sleeps with it. Mills is using the bathroom. (he just told me) B. Wilson, Skeen and V stoned a dead pelican on the beach this afternoon. I have evidence of certain members of the band who have girlfriends, with girls from the road...To be revealed in the next list if I am not compensated. (look for pictures on the site soon!) Mills loves to talk on the phone in the van really loud. (Hi Onour.)

We realized we are each one of the Seven Dwarfs:
Me - Happy
Finch - Grumpy
V - Sneezy
Alex - Sleepy (there was no cellphoney)
Bryan - Doc
Skeen - Bashful (awe)
Mills - Dopey (how perfect)
Big D and the Kid's Table sure can move.
Adam (Finch's brother) booty call is tap, yo.

Hey Kids, Greetings from Orange County. (thats california folks). We're 5 days into the "Ska Summit Viva Las Vegas" tour and we're already in freakin' California. Man i love this state. Every time i come here i never want to leave. Anyways lets get to the highlights so far. Two words, THE THING, If your ever driving through the desert and see signs for "The Thing", just keep driving. Its not worth your dollar. Hardcore shows in El Paso, always fun. Inner monolougue is extremely overrated, if you ask me....or especially Alan Mills. 16 hour drives still aren't fun no matter how many times you do them. Oh and one more thing, CHAIN REACTION shows ROCK!!! Big D and the Kid's Table and Codename: Rocky are some very cool guys. Finally, look for us on Jimmy Kimmel Live monday or tuesday night, shennanigans will definately ensue. This is Finch saying so long from sunny california.
